About Me

"To begin my life with the beginning of my life, I record that I was born on a Friday, at twelve o'clock at night."
- David Copperfield by Charles Dickens

Actually, I was born on a Saturday at who-knows-what time, but I couldn't resist quoting one of the most famous opening lines in classic literature. Don't worry. Like Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye, I won't be going into all that crap.

What I'm more interested in are the lives that I haven't lived. At least, not in reality.

As I'm sure you've guessed, I like to read. A lot. Like the planet monster thing in the Doctor Who episode called The Rings of Akhaten, I devour every story I can get my hands on and I'm still not satisfied. (Did I mention that I'm a nerd?)

When I'm not binge-watching shows on Netflix (like the extremely awesome Daredevil show. You must go watch it! Seriously, why are you still reading? Watch it and be amazed!), I'm reading about far-off places, daring sword fights, magic spells, or a prince in disguise.

My own life dulls in comparison. But you clicked on this page for a reason, so I guess I'd best oblige you. Here's the basics:

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit your butt down
I'll tell you how I became the biggest bookworm in my hometown.

Somewhere in Florida, born and raised
In the library's where I spent most of my days.
Buried deep, underneath piles of books
And all my classmates givin' me weird kind o' looks
When a college degree and a graduation later
I said peace out to all the wannabe haters
Now I'm sittin' in a cubicle makin' some dough
And then blowing it all at my local book sto'.

By day a copywriter and by night a book nerd
Reading mysteries, fantasies, and the Holy Word
If anything you could say my tastes are diverse
Don't go anywhere without a hidden book in my purse.

One day my friend said, "You should start a book blog"
And I yelled back to her, "Readin' Holmes, tell me later!"
After continuous nagging
Now I'm finally here
To recommend books to those far and near.
